Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Thursday 27th

Today’s news post is dedicated to the beautiful horse we lost yesterday evening, ‘Imajorblush’ ( Pedro) He had been with us since the start of his career, and he was much loved by his Owners & everybody at the yard. Pedro was a real character, and a really happy boy. We seem to have had too many sad days racing recently and it doesn’t get easier – we are all in this game as we love our horses and although the same happens if we have eventers, show jumpers, polo ponies or simply happy hackers – losing them is never easy. We will always remember Pedro 🖤

We have no runners today, the box will be heading out to pick up Lady Chloe & Desi from Millbry Hill Stud where she foaled. This is a video of her first days outside, it’s had many hundreds of thousands of views on our Facebook page.

We are about to launch two new NH partnerships – please keep in touch with our for sale page for full details in the next few days. The first will be in ‘Boris’ who is Desi’s YEATS half brother. Now a yearling, Boris will have a 25 Shares Partnership and he is an exciting prospect being by a champion Sire who had 4 winners at the most recent Cheltenham Festival. Boris is bred to be an exciting NH prospect.

Our second partnership will become our second ‘From day one’ experience as we have Lady Westerner returning from Coolmore scanned at 45 days in foal to ‘Order of St George’. This Partnership will have 30 Owners as our first ‘From Day One’ Pship and at this stage we will only be taking names and a small returnable deposit to secure your place in this – hopefully a safe foaling and a correct, healthy foal born in 2022 will mark the official start date.

We are loving the new gallop that was officially finished on Monday. It’s a full new surface right down to the stoning underneath and although it was a very expensive job, it’s part & parcel of training racehorses to have constantly renew & upgrade facilities, and this will be good now for many seasons to come.

We have lots of entries for the weekend, and hopefully a winner or two amongst them….we’ll preview them here on Friday night.

Phil bought this very exciting 4 year old mare at the Goffs UK Sales, ran once and an eyecatching second in a bumper to a 5 year old £190,000 point to point gelding purchase. She is out of an unraced sister to ‘Get me out of Here’. There are a couple of shares left on this high class prospect. She is now on her summer break having had a light canter at home just to get to know her.
