Bushy Bids For Hat-Trick

Phil with Bushypark.

* problem with the video links – we are working on it! –

We head to Hexham today in an attempt for Bushy’s 3rd win under Tommy Dowson before the handicapper catches up with him next week and he takes a huge 16lb hike in the weights for his efforts. He  should be well-in for today but we have our fingers crossed that the two closely ran heavy ground wins havent taken their toll. Having said that, he does remain well at home, and Phil has had a sit on just so he is sure (see video below). Joining him in the same race will be Romeo Brown who will have a tough ask to beat his stable mate, but still a solid ew chance off his mark if he can find his former self with Sean Quinlan on board. The slower pace in this ground should help his jumping.

Romeo Brown

This is yesterdays second lot collecting in the school and then taking exercise around one of our fields – a great bit of alternative exercise to keep them thinking and enjoying themselves.

Look out for Phil on Bushy…..

Adam with Buttons

Our recently retired stable jockey Adam Nicol has his first runner as a trainer at Hexham today in Romeo and Bushy’s race. We wish him the very best of luck as he sets out on his new career based at his parents yard up in Seahouses.

Mr Carbonator’s win on Sunday

Congratulations must go to the well deserving Mr Carbonator who finally pulled off his win he has been so close to on numerous occasions of late at Southwell on Sunday under a great ride by Ben Curtis. Great to see him in the winners spot for brothers Alan & David Fairhurst as he is such a consistent trier. Here are the closing stages, in the striped arms and hat…

Ben Curtis unfortunately suffered a very nasty looking fall in the last at Wolves last night, but luckily seems to have amazingly escaped serious injury as he reported late last night on Twitter to be ‘just banged and bruised’, they really are a different breed these jockeys!

A 1,2 finish for the girls

Shine Baby Shine won the stayers race at Southwell last night under a great hold up ride under Rossa Ryan before staying on strongly to lead the way home from 1 furlong out. Hot on her heels was Lady Camelot with a much improved run for 2nd. Congrats to them, owners and all connections – more points for the 10 to follow board too. The closing stages….

Big congrats to Izzy Kirby qualifying for Hickstead in May next year with Piper.
