Musselburgh Monday and a winner at Newcastle

A smooth win for GOWANLAD under Phill Dennis at Newcastle last night

We celebrated our 4th winner in 5 days yesterday –  and we were so delighted for Owner Breeders Les & Viv Waugh who bred this good  looking 3 Year old colt out of their multiple winner, Ahgowangowan . It’s a really good family and this win gave them so much pleasure, another out of their dam to pass the post in front. Ridden by our former Conditional, the in-form  Phill Dennis,  Gowanlad travelled well throughout and despite an abscence of almost a year, he kept on well right to the line. Phil is on fire this Autumn and riding winner after winner – we couldn’t be more pleased for him.

The previous night we had ‘Alsvinder’ at Wolverhampton over 5 furlongs and he ran a really good race off a mark of 80 to finish 2nd. His turn will surely come soon.

Today at Musselburgh so far we have seen solid placed efforts from Lord Torranago ( 4th under a penalty ) in the novice hurdle and a good 3rd from Dame du Ruban at 10-1 in the 3 mile handicap hurdle. She’s going to make a lovely mares chaser  for her Owners Value Racing.

Our final runner of the day will be ‘Fille d’Avignon’ for The Topspec II Partnership in the maiden fillies bumper. By Getaway out of the classy hurdling mare,  Site Leader, we are hopeful that a wind op will enable her to now finish her races better. She is maturing into a good looking mare and we think she will appreciate the good to soft ground on offer today. This was ‘Sylvie’ on her first start last season.  Following this bumper she will be going novice hurdling and is certainly bred for the job.
