Thursday at Carlisle…

We have a trio at Carlisle today, Robincollette, Romeo Brown and My Strong Man. Robincollette is having her second run since joining us in the novice hurdle, ridden by Tommy Dowson. She was placed in a point-to-point in Ireland and is one for the future to make a nice mares handicap chaser. Romeo Brown runs in the h’cap hurdle with Ross Chapman on board, he is a course & distance winner here at Carlisle so we hope he has come on for his last outing and should have a nice chance. To finish off we have My Strong Man, our homebred who is Lady Chloe’s 2nd foal, known as ‘Tonto’ to his friends. He is in a tricky looking h’cap hurdle for his debut of his season, as they all seem to be at the moment but he has done all he can at home, schooled very nicely earlier in the week for Tommy and is ready for a run. Hoping for a good run from him which he can improve with for the season ahead for owners The Platinum Partnership. Best of luck to all our runners, riders and owners for today and safe returns home.

Baby ‘Tonto’ with Lady Chloe

Yesterday we had an encouraging effort from Miss Mahmite for her first run for us. A good 3rd at Hereford in the bumper with Joe Williamson, not bad for a 100/1 shot. Another 3 points on the board for all our ’10 To Follow’ if you have her on your list. Please see our PKR 10 To Follow page on the website to find the full record of points winners.

Tomorrows Racing…

Smart Stargazer with Phil before his winning trip to Haydock last month.

We have our classy stayer Stargazer taking a trip to Doncaster tomorrow following his win at Haydock at the end of September. In the class2 h’cap with Tom Eaves on board for the Hassall family, with Phil & Pippa also owning half of him making it an extra exciting afternoons racing for them! Joining stargazer in the same race is Kangaroo Valley, switching back to the flat after a hurdles run earlier in the month which we hope will have brought him on to make a good account of himself tomorrow, ridden by top lass Hollie Doyle for owner Peter Allen.

Kangaroo Valley.

A day to remember….. Today is the 6th anniversary of multiple hurdle & chase winning mare Lady Buttons’ first win over hurdles at Worcester (following her bumper wins of course!), little did we know just how great the journey she would take us on would be and the pride and joy she would bring to us all. Now enjoying a winters retirement, still all snug in her stable until she begins her next chapter in the spring as a broodmare. Here it is again for those who didn’t see it the first time….

We, or rather Pippa takes great care and spends a lot of time and effort to rehome our ex racers and its great to see them get the nice homes they deserve after their time with us. Jawaab was one from a good few years ago, a favourite of many and we get lovely updates on how he is. Claire and daughter Jessica have given him a brilliant home and he is living his best life out hunting, doing cross country and all sorts of fun stuff! Here are a few pics of him looking very happy and well with Jessica…

To finish we thought you might like to enjoy the cheeky antics of our recently weaned foals, could there be another Buttons like superstar amongst them? There just might be one that will have a good go!
