Niven schooling last week with Joe

We have 5 runners today, all at one of our favourite tracks, just down the road at Wetherby. All debutants in one form or another. Kings Cave, Sunset West and South Terrace all make their novice hurdle debuts for us, their first runs since joining the Kirby team. Familiar face Niven takes his seasonal debut in the chase today, he ended his season back in March with a well fought win at Catterick. He jumped like a star in his schooling session last week and looks well at home – a tougher ask today at Wetherby with a 5lb rise for his efforts at Catterick. Arthur Mac makes his handicap hurdle debut for what will be his first run since joining us. We hope for good solid runs today, pathing the way for a good season ahead for them all. Best of luck to them and all connections, and of course a safe return home for them and their jockeys, Tommy Dowson & Ross Chapman.

Here is a video of the schooling session last week for those of you who haven’t seen it on our FB page…

This is part 7 of our ’10 To Follow’ which many of you will also already have seen, but a nice review to watch of some of our horses to look forwards to following this winter….

All runners from yesterday are back safe, happy and sound. We had promising performances from Madeeh, possibly just doing a little too much out in front and weakened towards the closing stages. Wemyss Point made a very pleasing return to the track after his wind surgery and will have come on a tonne for getting back out there racing.

Wemyss – Happy & well after his come back run for his The Green Oaks Partnership yesterday at Newcastle.

Bertie Blake in fine order at home after his debut of the season at his fav track Sedgefield for The Kirby Club Partnership.

Shine Baby Shine with Thomas this morning.

Mont Blanc – 2yr old Outstrip filly.

Rayna’s World in fine form ahead of a possible warm up flat run at Catterick as her debut of the season.

Kangaroo Valley having a wash off after a piece of work this morning.

The gorgeous mare Dame De Ruban – yet to run since joining us for

Load Buttons – every inch a chaser for the future by Presenting, being prepared for his first bumper appearance.

The smart looking Master Newton.

Pretty Lady Kyria.

Lady Buttons all snug in her new purple rug – had to be purple!

A great pic taken by Daniella of Helen & Albert, Smartie & Chico.
