Monday 29th June & video

We’re heading to Thirsk for an evening race with ‘Man of Verve’ and hoping he can improve on his first run back when he ran respectably after more than a year off…

Andrew Elliott rides him in the 8.00 race and he has a decent each way chance if building on his first appearance. The plan is to go hurdling with him later in the year, he proved a quick jumper when schooled previously.

Its been so wet and windy here these last few days…we thought you would like to see this video made last Thursday and Friday when we all melted in glorious sunshine and 28 degrees. Warm us all up a bit hopefully.

Lady Chloe, her foal and the foster mare ‘Norah Batty’ arrived back from Grange Stud in Ireland on Saturday. ‘Boris’ by Yeats has come through a couple of dicey moments since birth, but he is doing well now and his foster mum has done a sterling job when Chloe didn’t produce enough milk for him.

Boris & Norah Batty

Boris and his Mum will be joining the other mares and foals as soon as it warms up a bit towards the weekend.

Lady’s Present, Desaray Girl, Soldier of Fortune filly and The Flickeringlight last weekend.

Many of the jumpers are back in and a lot of well known names were in the arena this morning, some were sharper than others in the wind. Lady Buttons, Top Ville Ben, Whoshotthesherrif, Desaray Girl and Louis Vac Pouch were amongst them and all look great for their break in the fields.

New boy, Hidden Commander.
