Catterick Wednesday

We’re getting into Cheltenham mode with our thoughts turning to the 4 big days next week, and we’re starting to see the main races taking shape with Honeysuckle confirmed for the Mares and Benie des Dieux NOT supplemented for the Champion, she looks to be either going the Mares route or the Stayers…everyone is playing their hands late including us! Lady Buttons remains really well and in great heart at home. Most of the main work is done now and its just keeping her fit and fresh for the big day now. We have a small team of possible runners and decisions hinge on the ground and how much rain falls between now and then.

We’ve been having a few issues loading photos to this website so not so many the last few days but we’re working hard to fix the problem. Please do follow our Facebook page though, we’ve been keeping that fully up to date and new videos added every day this week, 3 so far today in fact.

Two of our Cheltenham preview videos will be loaded on to YouTube and hopefully posted here tomorrow and Friday…

Here are a couple of photos taken the last few days…

Cheltenham entry, the very handsome ‘Louis Vac Pouch’

Today we have NIVEN & PENNINE CROSS at our local track, Catterick….we love having runners there. Niven has a drop in class for this 0-120 2 mile handicap chase and is vying for favouritism in a 3 way tie, we’d love to see him get his head back in front this afternoon, he gave us plenty of encouragement on his Jumpers Bumper start 2 weeks ago at Newcastle. Pennine Cross didn’t back up his Catterick win when he ran in his next bumper at Wetherby, but horses for courses and he’s shown good form here so we expect a decent performance from him today, Joe Williamson on board claiming 7 for us, good luck to him and local owners, The Well Oiled Partnership.

The beautiful head of Niven
