Monday at Newcastle

Lady Buttons who has an entry at Doncaster for the Grade 2 Mares Hurdle on SaturdayThere has been some big race entries made today for Top Ville Ben & Lady Buttons, and it will be interesting to see the list of horses entered at Doncaster & Cheltenham in the next couple of hours.

The sun is shining and we sent three to Newcastle this morning – Keith’s Girl, My Strong Man & Gonn Away. Keith’s Girl has already ran in the Newcomers bumper and found the muddling early pace against her, keeping on but never landing a blow, she is one for the  future in Mares chases as she jumps for fun at home, this was a learning curve for her.

Gonn Away runs in a hot looking Mares novice and she should run another nice race to back up her reappearance 3rd which pleased us.

Our final runner ‘Tonto’ ( My Strong Man) steps into handicap company for the first time, but we suspect there isn’t a lot of leeway in his mark and this looks a typically competitive novice handicap – there is a lack of this sort of race in the North on galloping tracks.  He has schooled well this week and today will tell us where we are with him out of juvenile company. Best of luck to his enthusiastic partnership and I am hoping the pink & green   ‘Platinum’ colours bring our homebred horse a lot of luck today.

My Strong Man
