Thurs 17th at Carlisle…

We have a trio of runners at Carlisle today, Romeo Brown was in the 2:20 2m4 h’cap hurdle with Sean Quinlan in the saddle for owners McGoldrick Racing 5 & Birrafun. He finished off last season with a win here. He was narrowly denied the win today by 1 and a half lengths – but a sound run and a great start to his season!

Romeo with regular rider at home Hannah who loves him

Following Romeo in the second division of the 2m4 is Dubh Des Champs having his first run after injury. He showed promise back in November ’18 when winning a 3mile h’cap at Doncaster, so we have our fingers crossed he can pick up where he left off. First and foremost we hope for him to get a safe run round and enjoy his re-introduction to the track, we suspect the trip may be a little on the short side for him but he will no doubt be trying his best with Adam Nicol on board. We know he has many of his owners from his The Des Champs P’ship attending Carlisle and wish them the best of luck and hope they enjoy today after their patience with his unfortunate time off.  Sammi his pilot at home has done a great job keeping him settled at home and will no doubt be his top supporter today.

Last but by no means least we have Desaray Girl running for Resdev Ltd in the 4:00 Mares bumper. She put in a promising performance for her first run in March for 3rd followed by a tough ask at Cheltenham. She is a lovely mare and goes well at home so we look forward to seeing her back on track today.  Good luck to all runners, riders, owners and connections for a great days racing and safe return!
