Happy New Years Eve

Nautical Nitwit goes to Cheltenham

We had a day off racing today to recharge the batteries but Julie is leaving at 5am for Cheltenham with superstar NAUTICAL NITWIT so she won’t be having a sleep in tomorrow! We also have Pullman Brown and Nemean Lion at Catterick and Iconic Belle at Musselburgh. The shortest price of our quartet is Nemean Lion, and he takes his chance again quickly as he runs without a penalty and seems well enough in himself. Obviously this may come too soon but worth a try and it’s a drop in class to his race last week.

Nautical Nitwit runs for the first time in a handicap off a career high mark off 149 and he is 10 years old tomorrow, it’s quite clear he is not going to find life easy off this mark, and we’ll have to see how he copes but he is in really good form with himself at home and he has the top services of Danny Cook in the saddle. Best of luck to the Birrafun Partnership with him at Cheltenham tomorrow.

Its been lovely weather the last few days and more of the same is promised – a far cry from the snow and freezing temperatures we had to cope with last winter. Some photos from the yard this morning….
