Tuesday’s News

Kelso Saturday…

It wasn’t to be Stargazer’s afternoon but Dares to Dream belied her odds at Kelso for a battling 2nd in the Mares bumper for Tommy at the huge odds of 100-1! This was ‘Floss’s’ 2nd start and we knew she has strengthened up and improved considerably since last year, she is a beautiful looking filly and will make a smart Mares staying hurdler. Her dam is a half sister to Mr McGoldrick. Congratulations to her delighted connections, they told me it was as good as winning 🐎

We’ve had a quiet few days since on the runners front, but not at the yard! The new boxes are up and running, the youngsters are in from the fields and Phil & Simon have been adding to the gallop surface on an afternoon, it’s a non stop life here.

Youngsters in the barn sharing their feeds!

Third lot 🐎

No runners now until tomorrow when we have 3 – Misscarlett  at Kempton and Asum and Minstrel Royal at Ayr.Here’s a photo of our old boy, retired Amazing King in his new Winter rug. Seconds after this photo was taken yesterday, King was turned out with our coloured youngster, took one look at it and galloped across the field and flew straight over the 5 bar gate like he was still 8 again. Didn’t even touch it, silly old boy but he’s fine, you would think he would know better. King is as fit and well as a horse half his age. The oddest thing is he had been out with the coloured pony all summer but hadn’t seen him for a few weeks. Can only assume he thought it was a cow galloping towards him!
