Bumper WINNER at Perth yesterday for Owners Ramscove Ltd

We do like our Jumping Mares here at Green Oaks and Phil has always rated this Mahler mare he bought for just £10,000 at a Cheltenham Point to Point Boutique Sale last year – she looks a serious bargain now after 2nd and 1st in her two runs for us, you would like to think that after this performance she would be capable of winning another bumper with a penalty, most likely a Mares. Tommy gave her a confident ride, off the pace and she came with a smooth run to always look the winner in the straight – she went away by 9 lengths and looks a strong stayer for Mares novice hurdles in the future. Here is her winning video –

Simon has been breaking in the new Getaway filly and she is taking it all in her stride. Having a mother who was winning Listed Class we are really excited about her as one for the future. A share in her also gives you a share of her first foal with no further outlay until that youngster is 3 – and then stay in if you wish – it’s a unique new Partnership. The rules of the Partnership means she will be bred from to a top class NH sire if she proves herself on the racecourse and no keep fees whatsoever to Owners in her as a broodmare or her foal from conception to time to go into training! No stallion fees, no stud fees, no vets fees – it’s all included in your share of the filly. Feel free to request the rules and regs of the Pship with no obligation. Here she is the last couple of days beginning her education – she is taking it all in so willingly.

No runners today or tomorrow but there’s plenty of action at the yard – on the gallops with the horses and back on the gallops this afternoon as Simon,  Phil and Henry manually lay the new wood chip. It’s a tough job but over the next few days the surface will be fully topped up. Whilst it’s been dry we have also been having the gallop watered most mornings and it’s giving a super surface to work on with no summer dust.

New horse Bakhit, one of three who gave joined us for Yorkshire Owner, Mrs Porter.

Last time out winner ‘Captain Bob’ holds an entry at Haydock and this is a fantastic track to have runners as an Owner . There is still 33% of Phil’s share available to buy in him. He’s now a winner of 5 races with more to come.

We were absolutely delighted to be sent this photo of AGGLESTONE ROCK who was 2nd at a show at the weekend. Aggie looks tremendous and we are grateful for Mel to have given him such a super home- he has regular beach rides by the sea at Anglesey and also takes part in Medieval Jousting displays. Yet another example of how well ex racers can enjoy a second career – placing them in the right home is something we take very seriously.

Aggie at a Jousting demo

Aggie winning at cartmel – Injury prevented this fabalous horse scaling the heights he could have done – he was rated 135 over fences as a 4 year old and placed at the Punchestown Festival but despite repeated efforts we struggled keeping him sound enough to consistently train as an older horse.
