Wemyss wins at Pontefract!

Well done to all in the Green Oaks Partnership!

Paddy Aspell gave Wemyss Point a great ride today to win the Pontefract Stayers Marathon race over 2m5f – it was a nail biting finish but 6 year old Wemyss always looked to just be holding the Mickey Hammond trained ‘Becky the Thatcher’ in 2nd and he posted his 1st flat win for his Owners, many of whom were present to celebrate his victory. Wemyss is proving a good little horse for us – after 3x Bumper 2nds and a Saturday novice hurdle win he is now proving his worth as a flat stayer too after a mid winter break.

Nathan Noscrop has done his very best to make it a double for the yard and Rock of Leon has just been mugged in a photo on the line at Sedgefield – he looked the winner all the way Up the straight! It was a tremendous effort nonetheless and Rock of Leon has really found his form. He went off a very generous 20-1!!
