Todays runners…

Skipthescales heads to Carlisle today and has swapped his blinkers back to the cheek pieces as although he won in the blinkers first try he didn’t face them at all last time out – as is the case with some horses. He has Tommy Dowson back on board who previously won on him at Wetherby and takes his handy 3lbs off. The slightly better ground today should be a plus and the stiff finish at Carlisle will suit Skip as he finishes his races well. We wish him the best of luck for owners Les and Maureen Richards.

Nautical Nitwit

Nitwit and Kilcullen Flem are both on their first visit to Haydock today. Nitwit faces his career highest mark of 135 after being handed a 5lb rise for 2nd at Doncaster – he never gets it easy for always trying his best! He will no doubt put his all in again today and will be fit as a flea following his ‘jumpers bumper’ win at Newcastle. Ridden by Adam Nicol, best of luck to him and owners birrafun2. Kilcullen Flem remains in good heart following his gritty stamina sapping chase win at Hexham on heavy last time out and will hopefully be on form with Adam again today for owners David O’Bree, David McDermott and Paul Betts. Good luck to all runners, riders and owners today, and come home safe.
