Busy Saturday At Wetherby

We have 6 runners in 3 races at Wetherby today.

Bertie Blake

Bertie Blake goes for his second try over hurdles in the 2m novice, this time he has Nathan Moscrop(5) on board who rides out for us a few days a week. We want to see a better round of jumping from him which will build his confidence today and see him enjoy his race more than he seemed to last time. Good luck to his owners The Kirby Club P’ship.

Joining Bertie in the novice is Wemyss Point who ran well for his first go hurdling last time and we were very pleased with his efforts. This ground today will suit him well and we are hopeful of improvement into a place following his good start. Tommy Dowson is on board again for  The Green Oaks P’ship – good luck to all.

Wemyss & Tommy

Nicely Indeed makes up our trio in the novice with Adam Nicol on board and he should have good claims in this following his 2nd last time out up at Ayr in testing conditions, beaten by the favourite. Todays ground would be a little more favourable for him and we hope to see him go well for his owners Ownaracehorse.

Little Bruce

Little Bruce – seen above the day after his run at Ayr last time out, proving he is in good spirits and the race was clearly just a little too testing for him on the heavy ground with only 5 of the 11 runners completing the race. Back down in class for today with the better ground hopefully he will be back to himself and the zest he showed in the turn out paddock will show through. Ridden today by Nathan Moscrop claiming his 5lbs, Good luck to owners The GPS Partnership.

Joining Bruce in the 3m h’cap hurdle is Skipthescales after seeing improvement here at Wetherby last time out for cheek pieces with his good staying on effort for 3rd. He is also up in trip which we believe will suit him well, with Tommy Dowson(5) on board – good luck to him and his owner Les Richards.

In the last we have Northern Girl in her second mares novice after showing great heart and jumping very well for Tommy Dowson up at Ayr last time for a respectable 4th. The ground may be a little on the quick side for her today, but it will be safe jumping ground and we think Wetherby will suit her well. Adam Nicol rides her today for owners The Topspec Partnership & Ownaracehorse.

Janey & Sam.

Good luck to all runners, riders & owners at Wetherby today, come home safe!
