Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Thurs 21st news…

Yesterdays racing…

Bohernagore unfortunately didn’t get his own way yesterday at Kelso with 2 outsiders of the field taking him on for the running, resulting in the pace being set at an unsustainable speed and inevitable he faded badly in the closing stages. But that’s racing for you, you cant always get your own way! This now means he finds himself set with a tough handicap mark to face next time out, all without having his win he so much deserved.

Tomorrows runners…

We have a new face running for the first time since joining us tomorrow at Newcastle in the shape of Molten Lava. He runs in the 6:15 1m4f h’cap with Jimmy Quinn on board. He is a keen sort at home and looking back through his races you can see this transfers onto the track, with the majority of the race reports stating he takes a keen hold. We up him in trip a little tomorrow and he has never ran at Newcastle, so we shall see what he thinks of it. Good luck to him and we welcome new owner Brendan McNeill into the yard.

The 2nd runner of the day will be Kaylen’s Mischief, also at Newcastle. This is his 3rd start and he is in the 8:45 5f maiden stakes with Paddy Aspell taking the ride. Good luck to him and owner Mark Smith.

Kaylen’s Mischief.

We recently received this blog from one of Transient Bays owners Jason Tomlinson who has travelled many of the courses our gentle giant has ran at and he has kindly allowed me to share it with you. It’s quite long, so make yourself a cup of tea before you start! It is interesting to see the different perspective from an owners point of view regarding the track, hospitality, trainers remarks and jockeys, I hope you enjoy reading it…..
