Saturdays news…

Two meetings today…

At Thirsk we have 2yr old Jaycol’s Star having his 3rd run in the Novice stakes with David Nolan on board, followed by Mr Carbonator running in a 1m h’cap with Shane Gray. Mr Carbonator is another of our horses suffering from near misses on his previous 2 runs, a sht head and 1/2 length. Fingers crossed he gets his day today and finds his nose out in front.

At Stratford is Minstrel Royal having his first run since joining us with Tommy Dowson on board in a conditional h’cap. He previously won a 0-120 back in May, a much higher class race, so hopefully if he has enjoyed his change of scenery here at Green Oaks it isn’t out of reach.

Minstrel Royal.

Best of luck for all owners and connections, and come home safe!

It was a day of more near misses yesterday with Shine Baby Shine missing out by a neck and Good Time Ahead running a cracking race, deifying his bad draw on the outside under a smooth ride by Jimmy Quinn to find himself up handy on the rail, only missing out at the line by1/4 length. Rayna’s World didn’t get the best of runs and received a bit of interference a furlong out but persevered for 5th.

As we prepare for the NH winter ahead, its great to see some of the stalwarts of the yard coming to. Here are two faces you will probably recognise from seasons past, Courtown Oscar and Lady Buttons…
