Wetherby Double!

What a day! Two NH runners at Wetherby and two winners – one apiece for Tommy and Adam at our local Grade 1 track. Little Bruce set the ball rolling in great style for Owner Andy Bradshaw, winning his third of the season and battling all the way to the line for Tommy having his first ride aboard him today –  and what a confident ride it was, coming from off the pace and judging it perfectly to produce him late on. He clearly needs all of this trip and more.

Little Bruce has now won here twice from two runs and is a good prospect for 3  mile hurdles next year, he is a half brother to the outstanding Irish mare, Feathard Lady.

Not to be outdone, Adam then gave the 5 year old Suggestion a patient waiting ride,  also producing him at the last to run out a cheeky winner for his Owners Red Cap Racing on his handicap debut.  He has now won a bumper and a hurdle this year,  and more than fulfilled our  expectations from when Phil and Adam bought him as an unraced 3 year old at Tatts, and we are pretty confident there is further improvement to come from this still unfurnished young horse after a good summer out. We’re delighted for his now full newly formed Partnership to get this first win on the board, even if it was a little unexpected today with his lack of hurdling experience, and it’s a great way to sign off with him for the NH season, he’s been on the go a long time.

Suggestion wins tidily

We also had another grey, the 4  year old Rajapur running at Newcastle on the flat, his 2017 debut. . He made up some late ground after being outpaced and may step up in trip next time.

Tomorrow we have just the one runner as the others got ballotted out! It’s Ice Galley at Doncaster, and he makes a start for us after previously being with Kevin Ryan.
