Julie & Meg with Episode in the paddock

We had a 3rd at Catterick today from Episode – a nice each way for his Owners who enjoyed the 16-1 on offer and Episode ran well to just hold on to his place from the runaway winner, Ask Paddy. Tommy gave him a lovely ride and he jumped well suggesting that he may well make a nice novice handicap chaser in his grade. We all enjoyed our afternoon until both horses (Big Rob and Episode) wouldn’t go in the lorry to come home together and Phil & Julie had to make two trips home in the dark through the annoying A1 Catterick roadworks!

Bertie Blake

Bertie Blake

Tomorrow sees the eagerly awaited debut of the 4 year old, Bertie Blake  purchased from the Goffs IRE ‘Land Rover’ Bumper sale last June. Many of his Owners are in attendance tomorrow and we wish them luck for a promising start to what we hope will be a good NH career for this lovely young horse by Beneficial. Adam Nicol rides – Its a very competitve bumper but perhaps not quite so hot looking as the one Wemyss Point is declared in on Sunday…he travels up to Musselburgh with Nautical Nitwit , but first we have Next Edition there tomorrow in the (hopefully lucky) last for The Dibble Bridge Partnership, Tommy Dowson claiming 5 on board.
