Todays post is dedicated to North Island who very sadly had to be put down at Musselburgh yesterday,  a freak accident breaking his leg up the home straight when running on bravely, and very upsetting for all who were involved in this talented young horse. It doesn’t get any easier the longer you do this – and the drive back for Julie won’t have been great yesterday with the empty Horsebox. Thankyou for all our kind messages by email and text, they are much appreciated.

We had better fortune at Newcastle where Cavalieri was 3rd in a blanket finish to the 2.40 under Philip Makin, he stayed on really well and you couldn’t be dissapointed with this run, he was very game and seems to love his AW racing, it’s definitely the key to him. Back to Newcastle today with maiden 3 year old What’s Up Walter who will struggle against the likes of the Frankel colt out of an Oaks winner 🙈 What on earth do we have to contend with that for in a January Newcastle maiden!
