We may have had two seconds but we almost feel like we have had two winners today, we are really
pleased with the horses. Next Edition (known by all of us as ‘Eddie’) jumped like a buck at Market Rasen for The Dibble Bridge Partnership and looked to thoroughly enjoy going back over hurdles – just going down to the hot favourite by a length or so but running all the way to the line and making all his owners proud. Rocky Two came 5th in the race, running a bit in snatches, this was his first run after a break and he didn’t disgrace himself. Up at Musselburgh the 4 year old Wemyss Point ran green as we predicted he might but fairly flew up the home straight for Nathan Moscrop when the ‘penny dropped’ and he looks a really nice progressive young horse. Word is they think a lot of the winner, and the third is held in decent regard too so Wemyss is a very good prospect. He is almost home and will be ready for a haylage net and his tea! It is great to see the young horses come good – both he and Suggestion were our two unraced 3 yr old purchases from the July sale at tatts last year – we have given them both time- and now they have been 1st and 2nd in bumpers. They only cost a fraction of what they would have cost as yearlings – both bred to win the Derby – but because they were backward as 2 and 3 year olds they were sold by the big stables and we were ready to take our chance with two good looking unraced colts.
We have a number of shares in Next Edition for the winter at just £675 for 6 months (from November 1st) – and if you join now you recieve your 5% share of the £950 2nd place prize money today as well. He will be running this winter over hurdles at tracks like Musselburgh, Catterick and Market Rasen when the ground is not heavy – or if it freezes he can go to the AW at Newcastle – he is a cracking little fun horse to own. Total 20 Owners in the Partnership – all owners receive an Owners badge to the races.
