Whitchurch wins for The Turf ‘n Surf Partnership

Whitchurch wins again!

Whitchurch wins again!

He is not always the easiest to predict (hence his 14-1 price) but Whitchurch put his best foot forward again yesterday with a cosy win at Nottingham under Amateur jockey, Bruce Lynn in a competitive 15 runner handicap to make it two wins this summer Season.  He was retained by his Owners at the Tatts sales today and will have a few more runs on the flat this year while he is in good form.

Tomorrow sees one of our busiest Friday’s ever with SEVEN runners at one of our Grade 1 local tracks – Wetherby – a flat, fair galloping track that we enjoy running our horses at, the best horse usually wins.  The bulk of our horses tomorrow are making their seasonal debut, and some are coming off a long time on the sidelines – Up the Bees and Episode have been off over 500 days.

The seven at Wetheby are made up of:

Episode, Eastview Boy, Up the Bees, Little Bruce, Chloe’s Image,

Improved & Cleve Cottage

Of the two that have ran this time – Improved and Little Bruce, the former would have the best chance as he will have blown the cobwebs away at Wetherby last time. Little Bruce still looks too high in the handicap and is priced accordingly. A lot of our Owners are going tomorrow and we are looking forward to it, lets just hope all the horses and their jockeys come back safe and sound and are ready to run again in the next few weeks.

On Tuesday we saw the 2 year old filly ‘Enlighten Me’ for ‘The Shades of Grey Partnership’ having her third start – this time on the AW at Newcastle and although she was 5th of 5 this was a decent maiden and a 92 rated winner who was 2nd in the Redcar 2 year old Trophy. We hope she gets a workable mark and is capable of running well in her Grade as she is making steady progress. A photo from Tuesday evening… ‘Enlighten Me’ in the pink and grey silks:

And finally…Tara Time taking a rest…she has been busy learning to jump hurdles.
