there are 7 horses declared for tomorrow – 6 at Newcastle & 1 at Cartmel. It will be all go tomorrow and we are hoping for a Bank Holiday winner or two to celebrate tomorrow night.

Gabster in action

Gabster in action

Phil claimed a 3 year filly from Goodwood today called Gabster – she is by the  sought after stallion Ifraaj out of a winning mare who is half sister to Group 2 winner & Group 1 2nd, ‘Pounced’. Gabster has 6 2nds and a win in 13 runs and she ran a sound race today, sticking her neck out all the way to the line for a close 2nd in a £6k race.  We bought her with the intention of a run up north and on to the Tattersalls Sales as she should make good money to go juvenile hurdling, possibly a good bit more than the £8500 she cost today. However, if anyone wishes to buy her for this price to stay with us, we will be glad to keep her in training, she looks a consistent, improving sort who also goes on the AW (Won at Kempton) so should be a good filly to take up to Newcastle.

Our runners tomorrow:

Goldan Jess – Cartmel

Good Time Ahead, Next Edition, Bold Henmie, Mr Chuckles, Kallisto Freedom & Whitchurch – at Newcastle

Which has the best chance!? Next Edition returns to a surface he has won on so should go well, it would be exciting if 2 year old colt Good Time Ahead likes it as its a valuable prize and he seems fresh and well at home but without doubt the most emotional result of the day would be if Goldan Jess could win his race at Cartmel for a second time – this time its Adam’s turn to pilot him and he will be kicking on from the front in true Goldan Jess style. If he has a good advantage rounding the last few bends then he is hard to peg back as he is so incredibly tough.
