Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

A busy week ahead

image The rain is slanting down here this morning but thankfully the forecast is looking really good for Sunday with plenty of sunshine. Our daugter Indy has a chest freezer at the ready and has made her ice creams sign as she plans to run a little shop for anyone that would like some cold refreshments! Friday sees our two new signs go up so hopefully you will be able to spot us easily on Sunday – we will be posting full directions on Saturday.

Today Phil has gone to DBS Goffs with two horses that have won for us, Kiwayu and Iftikaar – their Owner has some young horses coming through and its time for them to move on, but as always we will be sad to see them go. We also retired ‘Keep Up’ yesterday as although he tries his best he is simply not good enough to persevere with , and he is now for sale to make a show horse, he will make a really high class Racehorse to Riding horse, a class that has become hugely popular.

We did though, get sent a nice new young horse yesterday, arriving from Richard Fahy’s was the 75 rated 2 year old, Good Time Ahead and Phil has wasted no time in entering him for Thirsk next Tuesday over 7f. He has been in the top 3 in 3 of his 4 starts to date and is a lovely young prospect to have.

Thursday we have Moshe at Haydock and he will appreciate any rain that falls tomorrow morning,  and also Whitchurch at Newcastle – he goes there off the back of his Catterick win. We then get a day off Friday before 4 potential runners Saturday – Seminole Dream heads to Lingfield for a nursery handicap while we are three handed at Redcar over  1m 6f with Cavalieri, Perennial and Next Edition – a race Phil believes should split.

The new office furniture has just arrived so that is the next job! The brochure proof comes through today to check, we have 500 being printed by Friday so we hope you enjoy reading about our team for the months ahead in this full colour booklet everyone that comes on Sunday will recieve.
