imageWe are looking forward to welcoming you to our first Open day at  ‘Green Oaks’  – gates open from 10.30 am on Sunday 7th August.

There will be signs up from Catterick village (we are 1.5 miles out of Catterick village on the road to HACKFORTH) you can also come from the Bedale to leyburn road and then come through Hackforth towards Catterick village. We will be posting full directions on the site the day before when we know just what the roadworks are currently doing at the A1 Marne barracks junction.

Racing UK’s Niall Hannity will be commentating on our parade alongside Phil – and no doubt getting him to open up about our exciting winter team which has our largest number of unraced bumper horses to date. These include the gorgeous 3 year olds  below:

We do have a small number of shares remaining in ‘Bertie Blake’ and we will have a dedicated stand with forms to pick up and read at your leisure telling you all about our Partnerships and shares and horses that are available.

Visit the horses in the stables from 10.30 (Most of the  horses love being stroked but please always be aware of teeth!  we will put a sign next to any ones that many not like the attention) and strictly no titbits please although carrots, apples , polos can be left outside their stables for their feeds later if you wish to bring some.

The parade of In Training horses will begin at 11.30 sharp followed by horses working up the gallop in pairs.

We have four foals at the yard – and six mares in foal for next year – and we will be happy to give those who fancy some walking a tour round the 100 acres we have here and see the horses at rest and the foals in the fields once the programme is complete.

For any children attending we are sure they will enjoy ‘The Green Oaks Gold Cup’

stage for a bit of junior excitement at approximately 1-1.30. We will also have an ice cream van in attendance so hope the sun shines.

There will be refreshements and drinks available to buy on the day and toilets on ground level. We will be parking everyone on site (but please arrive at 10.30 -10.45 am if you wish to park in the field – after that we will be parking on the roadside once the car park fills up)

The car park  ground is level for wheelchairs to gain acces to the yard and the horses.

phil smallPhil will be streched 1000 ways on the day and if you don’t manage to speak to him we do apologise – but he will do his best!-  However, our team will be delighted to speak to you and you will recognise them in their green Topspec T shirts. Do ask any questions you might have, and if you would like to enquire about shares please look for myself (Pippa) , Anna our secretary, or Partnership owner, Steve who will be happy to explain how our ‘one price for the year’ shares work.
