A new National Hunt Partnership
We are excited to be creating a new 20 strong National Hunt Partnership this year – and Phil is on the search for a potential superstar at the Store Sales this Spring and Summer. This starts on May 17th at Doncaster with a good catalogue of well bred 3 year old geldings and fillies – if the right horse is not found here it will be on to Ireland to Tatts and Goffs for their large catalogues. We are ‘upping the ante’ with this Partnership, the initial first year costs £2250 each for Owner with subsequent years, if the horse is fit and re-offerred, at £1250 in line with our other partnerships.
This gives Phil between £33-£38k to go and buy the 3 year old, and as we only anticipate a couple of runs in its 4 year old season, there will not be so much needed ‘in the pot’ to train and keep him/her so we will spend more of the money on buying the horse.
This is a ‘purchase’ share, you own your 5% and are entitled to remain in the Partnership when the horse is re-offerred at the end of the first year and subsequent years. If you wish to leave after the first year (or any year) your will recieve your 5% back of Market Value of the horse determined by an independant bloodstock agent and based on the horses form. You would also receive your share of any prizemoney won during your year. We would hope though, that you would wish to stay in and that Phil picks a good one!! Our only three other National Hunt unraced store horses bought and been offered in Partnerships so far are:
Transient Bay (bought for £5000) – winner now of 4 hurdle races and an exciting novice chaser for next season
Tara Time (bought for £7500) – 2nd on her bumper debut and we would hope she will be a bumper winner before she goes novice hurdling – seen out soon
Factor Fifty (bought for £4500) – a bumper and a novice hurdle winner and a bumper 2nd, – and some excellent placed form for his Partnership. More yet to come.
Three good quality horses all bought for less than £8k, it will be good to be able to go and spend considerably more and although it doesn’t necessarily mean we will find a star, it certainly gives us a higher chance.
We already have approximately half this Partnership filled with existing Owners who have been emailed first – now we are offering it to new joiners as well who might like to become an Owner with us in a good quality National Hunt youngster. We would be glad to arrange to meet you at the sales at Doncaster on May 17th and are also meeting potential Owners for dinner afterwards at ‘The Old Weighing Room’ restaurant at the racecourse. It promises to be good day out and if we don’t find the right horse it will be a trip to Ireland next on the cards. There is no need for any up front payment, this will be required with your Joining forms in the fortnight after the horse has been bought – and if you would like to register your interest (without obligation) please email firstname.lastname@example.org – if you can’t make it to the sales, you will be sent details of the horse before it becomes live on our website.
