Well done Cleve Cottage!

We were delighted with Cleve’s win yesterday, not only for ourselves who own a quarter, but particularly for his Owners Dave and Mark Phillips who have been in incredibly patient as Cleve had two years off with a serious tendon injury. It just shows again that  they can come back and he has been very consistent this Spring. He looked just like a horse wanting a fence next season, and Harry Skelton said this too – chasing is what he is bred for and he is going to make a good staying handicapper for next winter.

It looked like it should have been a double with Sakhee’s City just getting pipped under Adam Nicol at Hexham, it was nip and tuck to the line and Adam had his ground taken but it didnt go his way at the stewards enquiry although the winning jockey got a ban. Sakhee’s City ran yet another good race and it would have been great to finish his season with a win but it wasn’t to be. We also had Arabian Oasis running respectably at Doncaster in a race that developed into a sprint. The only dissapointment was Moscow Presents who was never in contention despite his good run last time, he perhaps prefers a smaller field and sulked here in first time blinkers.

Below is a video of our horses cantering on Tuesday and schooling on Friday with jockeys in to ride out. The video is long and the ipad possibly couldnt cope with the length of it and it keeps jumping! Please ignore the odd behaviour!  Some song choice requests on this one….and a favourite for one of our ‘Quo’ owners..you know who you are! The gallop is unrailed on the video but Simon and Phil have been doing many extra hours putting up the white railings which are almost done now – you can see how it looked on saturday with Izzy here having a practice with her dad,
