King Grey stretches out this morning on the new gallop
What a unmemorable days racing – one to write off! But of course all the horses back safe and sound, thats the most important thing. Seminole Dream became anxious in front of the stalls at Pontefract and rather than risking an accident, she was withdrawn by the starter. Mr Chuckles ran fine and will come on
for the run, he will be winning races this summer. It was another freezing cold almost wintry afternoon at Green Oaks – we had snow flurries again and the sky was dark all afternoon. Yesterday there was a howling snow blizzard at one point and someone was caught out in the arena but they were quick back into the barns until it subsided…I took this photo from the house. Thankfully it was dry at times this morning and I caught these images of the horses out on the new large circular woodchip gallop. By next week it will be railed fully with proper white railings.

Next Edition leads the three in this group – the gaint ‘molehills’ at the back will be going!

Kelly with Whitchurch
Tomorrow we have star lady jockey LIZZIE KELLY riding out for us – she is on a short stay here and is coming to ride out and meet our team – Lizzie is the only lady Jockey in the National Hunt world to have ridden a Grade 1 winning race – even beating Nina’s record! I will be bringing some videos from the gallops tomorrow evening.
Some further photos from our day…
