Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Sunday at Carlisle

Update from the races- Inproved ran a sound race for second in the novice, he has now won a bumper and second in two novices and he should get back to winning ways on some better ground as he is a real trier.

Improved’s best turned out prize is paying for tonight’s Chinese for a few of us, he looked an absolute picture in the paddock, as did Bold Henmie who still needs further assistance from the handicapper.

Earlier post….

We are on our way to  Carlisle with Bold Henmie and Improved, the sun is shining and we are looking forward to a good day at the races. Improved is our best chance, he ran really well for second at Doncaster last time but he has done all his running so far on flat left handed tracks, today will tell us if he likes going right handed and up and down hills! He would also prefer a bit  further but we are going for the better ground today. Bold Henmie is struggling off his handicap mark as he was given a very high mark for a run in a novice but it was just too high. He will hopefully find his level soon.

Transient Bay ran an absolute blinder yesterday at Uttoxeter, his final run of the season, and he put in another great effort for 2nd, just beaten by the unexposed Pipe horse. Stenna will now have a well earned summer break. He was ridden by Danny Cook yesterday as Adam was ill.
