Wednesday 23rd March
There were some happy youngsters last night as we turned 4 of the 6 colts that were at Castleton out in one of the big paddocks. Two more to follow, and with the weather being fair and a good deal of grass through already they are better out than in. There was plenty of galloping about and it was clear that they still stuck to the pairs they were used to being in at Dibble.
We had just the one runner yesterday, Bold Henmie at Wetherby who was going well until diving at a hurdle down the back and taking quite a nasty fall, ironically he had jumped the best he ever had until then. He was fine, Adam not too bad but did manage to break his nose in the process and a trip to York hospital ensued.
Its a day of bringing the first proper batch of in- training horses to Green Oaks today, the waggon and trailer are going to be kept very busy for the next week, but tomorrow they will be heading down the M1 as we have three at Wolverhampton.
