Wednesdays News – and video

No runners today after Tara Time was made a non runner due to ground, but tomorrow sees the debut of ‘Little Bruce’ at Carlisle, and we are looking forward to making a start with this full brother to Bruce Almighty. Litttle Bruce by Yeats is a good bit smaller than his year older brother, and he won’t be jumping chase fences anytime soon but he has a good stride and will mature into a nice horse.

Phil is taking him racing tomorrow, we also do have one other runner – our daughter Izzy in the Area Schools Yorkshire Cross Country Qualifier round Catterick racecourse. Phil and Izzy had a pre-run round there last weeked. Thankfully for Izzy she beat him by a distance, he couldn’t live with her once they turned for home.

The rain is wreaking havoc with our plans to run King’s Grey and with Leicester probably off and Warwick now gone heavy we are running out of options to qualify for the Aintree Foxhunters, its been a tremendously wet winter on the racing front. There is a race at Fakenham that may now have to be considered as it may well provide better ground but is over an unuitable 3m.  Kings Grey features at the start of this new video – the music choice is provided by our work rider and ex-Trainer Steve Kettlewell who also features in this video. I have made one big mistake – the horse I call Lexington Bay is actually Moshe, they look extremely alike.
