Stenna the tank

Transient Bay In the parade ring at Wetherby looking in top shape and led up by Katie who often rides him at home. He is pictured with the winners place behind him – a good omen obviously!
It was another special day for Owners in Transient Bay today, many at Wetherby to watch him win in good style for the second time this season. We were hopeful of a stronger pace today and thats what we got, Adam giving him a positive ride and Stenna answering every call when he asked him to quicken in that heavy ground up the straight. There were a lot of proud people watching their big horse fulfill his potential and it was good to hear the Racing UK presenters saying how impressive he looked in the paddock. He certainly is an imposing sight, he must be almost 18 hands and surely one of if not the biggest horse in training in the UK, and he is wide with it! It just shows how patient you have to be with these big staying bred horses, he was weak and wrong in himself last year, and next stop could be fences for him and Cleve Cottage who ran a much improved race for a staying on third, both have always been embryo chasers whose future lies over the larger obstacles.
