Mondays News

This will be brief as we are having an internet problem at Castleton. Hopefully fixed by today or tomorrow.

No runners today but all weekend horses fine, Saturday was something of an anti climax with Jess finding the opposition and ground to much at Wetherby, Kyle wisely pulling him up when clearly not coping. Our Wolverhampton runners came back with a 3rd, but we had hoped for more with Perennial and Next Edition, two that are yet to find the form we know they are capable of.

However, one horse that is a the top of his game is BRUCE ALMIGHTY who was so impressive at Wetherby on Friday and who will be heading to Hexham on Friday without a penalty as it was a conditionals race. He looked absolutely superb in the paddock, Sarah had him gleaming, and he looked like a horse who has lots more to give yet now he has stepped up to three miles.

We have at Castleton his FULL BROTHER  who must be the best value  untried NH 3 year old gelding in the country. ‘Brother Bruce’ as he is known at home, is a carbon copy of his elder brother with the same depth, bone and big stride. He is clipped and doing his roadwork at Castleton now and at £20,000 for all of him, or split into 2 or 4 shares, he is outstanding value. We see him as another staying novice hurdler and no reason why he can’t do just what his brother has done, dont forget his half sister is the Unbeaten, exceptional Irish hurdler,   Feathard Lady. ‘Brother’ Bruce can be viewed  at our home yard and a video of him will be posted as soon as a better internet service resumes!
