Friday’s News – updated WINNER!
Congratulations to the Owners of the progressive Bruce Almighty who won cosily at Wetherby today for Adam Nicol. A really exciting performance and Phil has two days to enter him to escape a penalty.
We saw a really promising 10-1 second by Whitchurch and Ross Turner on Wednesday at Nottingham , despite not being convinced he would want that ground, he stayed on in great fashion and looks another nice prospect for the yard. He was only beaten by the favourite and they came well clear of the rest of the field. Ross is still looking for that first winner but he has a great placed strike rate and we are sure it wont be long before he is celebrating, he rode a very good race here in the conditions and deserves his chances, he is a top worker at the yard.
Rocky Two ran as well as we could have hoped for off his stiff opening handicap mark yesterday at Sedgefield, 5th in a competitive handicap hurdle. Although he left our yard several months ago, all eyes were also on Hail the Brave whom we had had since a breaker and won for us over hurdles at Wetherby last winter. However, he did not run any sort of race and did not look to be enjoying himself before pulling up.
Bruce Almighty heads up the road to Wetherby this afternoon, he may need his armbands on with the amount of rain that seems to be falling but he is short priced favourite to win the boys race for Adam. Second fav is none other than Lowcarr Motion – Agglestone Rock’s half brother – who ran in some bumpers for us and is now trained by Micky Hammond . We love this family and recently bought another half sister by Native Ruler, the last foal by Royalty . Lets hope its a winner for Middleham whatever the outcome, and that they all come back safely.
