Monday 13th April
A new arrival at Dibble Bridge – Izzy is thrilled with the lamb that has been born and all the horses enjoy watching it scoot past their doors. We had all the fields fertilized today ready for the mares coming back in May – they are greening up nicely already with the warm weather last week.
I had hoped to be able to bring more foal news by now, but hopefully tomorrow? Royalty, Pickworth and Epicurean ALL now due, the sleepless nights continue for Lesley and Bob Haw where they are boarding to foal, cameras on in every stable.
John Hanson sent me this photo of his colt foal out of Marmot bay by Swiss Spirit, he is growing nicely and looks just like his 5x winning dam. Marmot (Lady) has scanned in foal to Garswood so may well be the first mare to return back to Dibble Bridge with her baby.
It wasn’t a work day at the yard, and Phil has fallen asleep so i can’t get a report from Middleham today! However, tomorrow promises to be busy with runners at two tracks and our new French MTM trailer in action as well as the horsebox. We are really pleased with it and the horses travel in it so well. It is much more spacious than a standard trailer and we have just had two cameras fitted inside it that link to the toyota dash.
Meg’s new video of the yard and gallops the past week:
We are offering SIX MONTH ‘Dibble Bridge Partnership’ shares in flat and hurdle winner (and 3x YORK 2nd) ‘Next Edition’ (renewal 1st May) and also we have remaining shares in ‘The Philip Kirby Racing Partnership’ with a newly purchased Kayf Tara 4 year old filly out of bumper 2nd, Phrophet’s Honor. We are also offering SIX MONTH shares in her, May 1st – October 31st. Prices and details to come in the next few days. Everyone is able to suggest and vote for her racing name, and she is an exciting well bred NH prospect. We have had good success with Kayf Tara bumper horses to date, Bedale Lane, Celtic Agent and Up the Bees three winners in this sphere for us by Kayf Tara, hopefully she will be another, her full sister was 3rd on her bumper debut recently for Emma Lavelle.
Lesley Redpath has updated us with news of the elegant ‘Into the Light’ (Henry) who made his first ROR competition a winning one! It has taken a long time for Henry to fill out but now he has, he is destined for great things as a retrained racehorse in the showing classes and was given some great comments by the judges. Henry was Phil’s famous ‘comeback’ horse and he rode him to 2nd place in a Point to Point coming from well off the pace!
