We have already had two runners today, Indalo Returns who found Wetherby a bit sharp on his comeback, according to Phil’s post race report, and O’ly Roccs who ran a good race for 2nd at Wolverhampton under Joey Haynes for the Grech family. O’ly is a real genuine horse who looks sure to get his head in front again soon, he is consistent and battled all the way to the line here.
Soeur de Rois will be our final runner, in the bumper at Wetherby, she needs to make progression from her first start when she found the ground too tacky. She is a nicely bred daughter of King’s Theatre and we wish her Owners the very best of luck with her.
Megan Dent made this lovely cake today in the colours of The Well Oiled Partnership to celebrate Monty’s 11th career win, and a decisive one at Market Rasen, he is pictured below posing for the camera with Megan, he looks like he desperately wants a piece!
Julie Heneghan also took best turned out with him, and is pictured here receiving her prize. Photo by Mick Atkins.
Yesterday saw Hugo start work for us, he is a talented rider who will claim 10lb for us in conditional races and we are looking forward to seeing him make his debut ride on a P Kirby runner. We also had two runners at Carlisle, both making their handicap debuts in the same race, Courtown Oscar who stayed on nicely for 4th after getting outpaced, and Cathedral who was just behind him in 5th, perhaps just finding the Carlisle hill a bit stiff. Chloe’s Image with Ross Turner looked a bit ring rusty at Wolverhampton but she is entitled to come on plenty for her first run in over a year and a half.
