Racing is off at Musselburgh, the icy temperatures threatening to play havoc across the UK as far as racing is concerned this week. We have been waiting for good ground for a while for Episode so this was frustrating, but his turn will come. Its also not looking promising for Carlisle on Wednesday when we have Can’t believe It set to make his racecourse debut for the Philip Kirby Racing P’ship along with Aniknam and Cathedral also entered. On the same day Geordan Murphy should be able to keep his date at kempton on the AW, a track he clearly prefers to Wolverhampton.

Saturday saw long time Sharp Hill staff member, James Robinson muck his last box out…James who was not going to be heading to Groundhills farm with us in the Spring has secured a job out of racing and we wish him all the best for the future. James worked for Kate before we arrived at Sharp Hill, and he has been a valuable member of our team these last two years – a good rider and he will be missed by all.  It will be a warmer morning for him than everyone at the two yards today – its currently minus 2 at Castleton and no doubt the wind chill is much fiercer up on the low moor riding out at Middleham this morning.

Musikhani heads off to Ireland tomorrow morning to visit the stallion ‘Fast Company’ , leaving Holyhead at 2.30am, a long night ahead for the mare but she will be tucked in her stable at Rathasker stud by 7am.
