Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Tuesday 9th December.

Well we’ve made the Racing Post, and they were kind enough to remove the awful photo of Phil and replace it with a smiley one, thanks to keith Foster for taking a nice happy photo!  You can read about our intended move on the home page, it will not be happenning until March, we want to take our time to make sure everything runs smoothly for Horses, Owners and our team, many of whom will need to find somewhere else to live.

This does mean Phil will still be making the 1hr 20+ drive every morning and night  in the snow again, but he has promised to swap his car for something more  sensible, and this will also pull the new purchase, the INOVAN we have ordered from France and will arrive in february. made by the brother of Theault, (our horsebox maker) this sits behind a 4×4 or the horsebox and will be invaluable when we have more than 2 runners. Inside it is fully kitted out like a stud horsebox with nowhere unsafe they can jump though. We can’t wait to get it.

Today its Southwell and we see the reappearance of Danehill Flyer after 230 days off the track. he will be fit for his first start but naturally come on again for it, so a promising run will be the order of the day. Danny has schooled well over hurdles, he is very quick, and this is a good warm up for him before he tackles timber  for the first time.

Timeforms View of the race today : Master Dan took advantage of below-par performances from his main rivals when successful in maiden company 2 weeks ago, and this is harder back in a handicap, but he should still put up a very bold show. Royal Marskell is a reliable operator at this track, while Danehill Flyer ran right up to form on his previous try here.
