Sunday’s News – winner!
Market Rasen Winner – Factor Fifty!
It was great to see The Topspec Partnership’s ‘Factor Fifty’ win in good style yesterday at Market Rasen – he jumped fluently over the last two for Adam Nicol and stayed on all the way to the line to secure a 9 length victory over Jonjo’s horse ‘The Nephew’ . Frankie was pretty tired afterwards – he always gives everything in his races but Phil threw a couple of cold buckets over him on the way to the winners enclosure (it was a warm night) and we kept him walking and he soon recovered. Frankie is a lovely young horse who is progressing as we hoped and should make a lovely novice chaser for 2015. He went out in the field today at Dibble Bridge with ‘Silver Flora’, our bumper runner who ran well enough on her first start, she is a hurdler in the making and also tried her best in pretty good mares company for her racecourse debut. She was beautifully behaved and took everything in her stride.
Apologies to everyone who reads the site – I managed to make a huge error and say ‘Just Paul’ was running at Thirsk when of course he was running at Beverley yesterday – he got a fair bit of trouble and his wide draw did not help, but he stayed on and if the handicapper gives him a bit of a chance he should be returning to the top spot soon, he knows how to win.
Sarah Olley took this photo of Next Edition for me this week – he is being entered at both Thirsk and York tomorrow and will take up the easiest assignment next weekend. Eddie is really well in himself according to Sarah who rides him every day – he pulled her arms out this morning and she thinks he has never felt better. We hope to see many of the Dibble Bridge Partnership in attendance this weekend!
Those of you who are interested in our ex racers will be pleased to hear i have found good homes this week for Back to Paris with Vicky Brunskill from Marske, and Pat (an unnamed gel;ding out of Ahgowangowan -who never ran but was in training with us) he goes to York tomorrow to live with Jemma Kirby (no relation!). I have been enjoying riding Work of Warning (Smokey) who is going so well in his re-training now – photo below.
I have also had news of Indian Ruler who has just enjoyed a horse holiday with his partner Helen, she says he is a wonderful horse and so pleased she got him from us.
We will be having an Owners day at Sharp Hill in late September – date soon to be announced – hope many of you can come. I will also be producing colour brochures of our team and the horses we have to look forward to this winter – available for all our Owners and Partnership owners on the day. We have some really exciting bumper horses and novice hurdlers this time headed by outstanding young mare, Lady Buttons who was just beaten in a photo in the mares champion bumper at Aintree. She is pictured here with our first time out winner ‘Up the Bees’ (Bumble) who will be going novice hurdling as well this season.
