Wednesdays News – Platinum in the paper!

Exciting news today – Marcus Armytage has written a piece about Phil and Platinum for tomorrows Daily Telegraph Racing Page, can’t wait to see what he has written about my lovely horse..and the husband of course!  Just 3 days until his big race at Haydock, and the forecast rain on Friday will certainly not inconvenience him, He has ran well on V soft in France and is a certain stayer having won over 2f longer.

I can’t continue to go on and on about my horse, we have many more in training, including a smart new grey head over the door at Middleham – he arrived a week ago and is called ‘ ‘Word of Warning’. he has slightly lost his way but hopefully can get back on track with our change of scenery, and win again for his owners, The Twelve Go Racing Partnership.  WE are also looking forward to running new 2 year old ‘Lady Heidi’ and  Bay Street Belle’ at Thirsk on Saturday – both on debut for us.

Did any of you notice the major spelling gaff I made a few days ago after the Hog Roast? I claimed that we had ‘raided  over £1500 for the IJF instead of ‘raised’!  One of our Owners kindly pointed this out to me,  much appreciated. When i update on the ipad it sometimes gives predictive text without me realising.

I took some photos of some of the boys at Dibble Bridge today:  The first being the highly rated flat horse, Khawatim – he has recently been gelded and is having an easy few weeks.  He is a gorgeous horse.

It has been a beautiful day and when all the work was done Phil and I took our girls to Redcar beach and they had fun cantering on their ponies – even 4 year old Indy who can do a pretty good jockey position!  No racing today but local track Sedge tomorrow and we have two running in an extremely weak Juvenile hurdle –  although with both being first time out its not going to be easy for them. Good luck to connections of Joeluke and Sakhee’s Romance, they have done plenty of schooling.

Friday sees Mysterious Wonder declared for Newcastle – we would have to get a fair downpour of rain to change the ground and see him run. This sets us up for a busy 2 days at Thirsk, Haydock, Stratford (possibly) and York…. we are looking ahead for win no. 51 – the new target is 80 by the end of the year.
