A normal work day at the yard, but also busy preparing for tomorrow’s Open day and Hog Roast, the marquees are up, the bar is stocked, the forecast is dry – a bit cool but no rain, and with everyone arriving at 11, we are looking forward to a fantastic end of summer celebration – just the right time to get the 50th winner.

No runners tomorrow – that would have been tricky – and it will be a quiet week with likely runners only Jawaab and Brunello up to Friday – and the weekends entries due to be made on Monday.

Platinum was a non runner yesterday, Phil has decided to give him a bit more time and he will be entered at Haydock for a valuable 0-105 handicap over 1m 6f.

Both Burns Night and Dr Irv are fine after their wins the last two days.

Potential top class h’cap hurdler Matthew Riley is back in work now but did not appreciate Phil trying to pull his mane this afternoon at Sharp Hill – ‘try’ being the right word, he tried….and he failed so that is why Matthew has a long mane when you see him tomorrow!  More help will be needed to get the job done next week!
