Jawaab, Mysterious Wonder & Next Edition head a three pronged attack on Newcastle tomorrow, Timeform comments:
A chance is taken on NEXT EDITION representing a Philip Kirby stable going places. The Antonius Pius gelding backed up his narrow Uttoxeter hurdling defeat when placed in a similar handicap to this at Chester and a 1lb ease in the ratings looks to give him a rock-solid chance.More of tomorrow runners shortly…its been a beautifully warm day and i took some videos of the young horses ‘Stenna’ (by Trans Island, Waking Ned P;ship – shares for sale) and ‘Marly’ the 4 year old bumper prospect we have for sale (half sister to a Cheltenham festival winner) – they were enjoying themselves running round the paddock after exercise.

If any of you had been wavering wether to join us with ‘Stenna’ , just look at what a fantastic looking horse he is – and he is about 17.3hh , as you can see he is also light on his feet and a good mover. Votes for his racing name starts 1st September. and we already have some great suggestions. I particularly like ‘Ticket’s Please’, he is by Trans Island out of Boarding Pass.
Marley, by Definite Article, is a year older, and is also a very good looking individual with huge presence. She is doing her roadwork at Dibble – as now is Stenna – but will be at Sharp Hill for The Open day. She is forward thinking and strides out in front when hacking, a trait we like to see.
Platinum has enjoyed a day out (I am about to go and catch him, he didn’t want to know earlier!), here he is in the sunshine, he was a little bit more tired than on his last run but he did try very hard yesterday.
he is also pictured here talking to one of our retired boys.
How lovely do they look in the sunshine!
The horse on the right is BLONDEINTHEBAR who is still seeking an owner for the coming NH season.
Both Platinum and Just Paul won best Turned Out at Musselburgh yesterday – they looked a picture, and we love winning those BTO’s. This is Platinum gleaming and looking in tremendous order before he heads off to the paddock. We just wonder, how good actually is he? TIme will tell as we up him in grade. he had a very nice w rite up in the Post today, from £400,000 yearling to £2000 bargain when we bought him at DBS last winter!
Back to tomorrow, and Jawaab looks fantastic, hopefully a few days doing different things have perked him up for Newcastle; he is ridden by Declan Cannon who has won some good races for us this season. Eva Moscrop is back in the plate on Mysterious Wonder who has another go at sprinting but looks as though he may be stepped up in trip sometime in the near future if he still finds it hard to travel through his race. Good luck to connections of all our runners at the track and we would love to get another win (or 2) tomorrow.
Many entries and decs coming up – our star’ Goldan Jess’ has multiple entries, hurdles and flat, Cartmel on Monday for decent prize money is looking quite tempting.
The Tatersalls yearling catalogues came today, Phil has fallen asleep reading them – its also bargain basement at Ascot next week and always an interesting trip out (we bought Mac Tiernan there last year) . We have also been invited to the Arqana show and sale in France next week.
