We have 2 runners today and Phil has taken them to Wolverhampton while Katie has gone with 2 for wind checks at Cheltenham vets. Pictured above is ‘Man of Verve’ who hadn’t had much luck recently but remains capable of winning if he breaks well and gets a clear run. Our second runner is the filly ‘Doussard’ who is having her third start and will qualify for handicaps in the future. She joined us from Ireland and is a sharp racy sort, pictured below.

The weather is glorious at the moment although the ground is generally very quick everywhere – it only suits some of our runners. We had an excellent win at Catterick on Saturday with AQUISITOR for Owners, HOPE EDEN RACING – this likeable 3 year old joined us a few months back and has been steadily improving, his 3rd at Carlisle had been a real step in the right direction before Catterick. He is pictured here with his Owners and Phoebe who led him up – she rides him every day and this was her first winning lead up for our team so great to do it at our local track.

A ‘home video’ this time for his win and some great encouraging shouts from our daughter Indy who is loving being back racing – she absolutely loves it. It was so nearly a double as ‘FIRCOMBE HALL’ had finished a close 2nd in the previous 7f division, he should be getting back to winning ways shortly. Up at Musselburgh we had SEXY BEAST in the Ladies race for Megan Nicholls and he finished a close up 3rd behind the highly progressive Adam Nicol horse, Wise Eagle who has been a superstar for them. This was Seb’s best run for us to date and he has been in the Winners Enclosure every time for his Owners in ‘The Good Looking Partnership’ . He is pictured here led up regular rider Jodie, she won Best Turned Out with him again 👏

Our other runners finished safely and a full house came back at home later – always the most important result of the day. We’ve had some sad times recently.

We thought you might like to see some more photos from our lovely day at Catterick, the new Owners facilities and View from the balcony are amazing and it feels like being at a smaller York! We can also confirm that the complimentary Owners dinner was superb 👌🏻 Back at The Green Oak’ the champagne was cracked open and Phil enjoyed being a Landlord and even selling 1/2 a horse, ‘always lethal once the drinks are flowing!

And to finish off today’s news, the younger generation. Izzy has been competing on her pony Piper down at Hickstead & Arena Uk for some good rounds, she would like to qualify him for Horse of the Year Show and the Pony Club Championships later this summer. As Izzy gets taller sadly so do the jumps, it makes for nervous viewing for us parents.

Indy has been competing on her special pony Freddie and qualified with a win for The Royal International Horse Show in July so she was thrilled.

Cousin Liam Kirby excelled at the Pony Club Area dressage at the weekend, he qualified individually for the championships.

And finally you know we are obsessed with racing anything here… Victor built Indy a Go- Kart for the famous yearly school Race at Cundall and although she didn’t win at her first attempt , she loved doing it and posted a very good time! Next year says Vic!
