Sunday 14th

No runners today but Phil is still kept busy with a visit from the Cleveland Pony Club. They find it fascinating to see inside the world of a racing yard and listen to the day to day story of what goes on and how we do everything. They started with a peak inside the office with Pippa to see all the trophies and pictures on the walls and then moved onto the racing tack room upstairs to see all the equipment involved with a day at the races.

Next it was a trip out around the yard to see the horses – not least superstar Lady Buttons who luckily for them has just come in from her summer hols along with the likes of Top Ville Ben, Wemyss Point, Bertie Blake, Mr Carbonator, Suggestion and our exciting new recruit the Spanish Moon colt – to name just a few. The tour continued through the yard to include the tack room, washing machine/dryer and storage room, the lads day room and there is also our mares and foals just in the paddocks below the yard for them to see too. Phil also did a ‘tacking up for the races’ demo but without the plaiting – We WILL teach him one day, but he is in no rush to master it!!! Stick to what you are good at we think is the best idea!

Looking forwards to next week we have 2 runners on Monday….

Shine Baby  Shine

Shine Baby Shine is at Ayr in the Apprentice race and sees our own apprentice Nick Barratt-Atkin getting the leg up. Shine has been ultra consistent on the flat with 2 wins and many placings. We hope this lovely straight forward mare can add another to her name and give Nick his first win. Best of luck to them both and her small syndicate of owners headed by David Gray.

Imajorblush & Hannah

The second of Mondays runners is Imajorblush at Wolverhampton. He has made a massive step forwards for his last run and we hope to see him improve for owners Zoe and George Hassall. We wish him and all connections good luck, ridden by the very capable apprentice Phil Dennis who has been having a great season.
