Tuesday 11th July – wet!

Warm and dry – our stables getting full of some exciting jumpers for the winter months, Little Bruce nearest and new horse, Mangata behind.

Its absolutely pouring down but work continues as normal wether its wet or dry with racehorses…we have had a busy morning here with Owners visiting and watching their horses work on the gallop. Its one of our busiest times of the year in fact as the flat horses are still in full swing but the jumpers are coming back in, staggered as to wether they need to be ready for the beginning of October or the beginning of November when we have softer ground. Back in now is  star mare ‘Lady Buttons’ who has the Mares Listed 2m 4 f hurdle in early October as her big target, she is joined by ‘Sakhee’s City’ in the same Ownership who will be going novice chasing this term. Also back in from the fields so far is the Green Oaks Partnership’s ‘Wemyss Point’ , the talented but fragile, ‘Aniknam’ who we are hoping for a clear run with this year,  the future chaser, ‘Hangard’, the new to our yard ‘Kilcullen Flem’, exciting bumper filly, ‘Dares to Dream’ ,  a newly arrived last season bumper winner yesterday, ‘Baracalu ‘, the 4 year old Goffs purchase ‘ Askmemore   ‘ and the progressive hurdler, ‘Little Bruce’.

Good looking new horse Baracalu

There are plenty more to come in too – and these include our high class staying handicap chaser, ‘Courtown Oscar’, 4x winning staying hurdler ‘Transient Bay’, novice hurdle prospects, ‘All my Own’ ‘Gonn Away’ ‘Northen Girl’ and ‘Bertie Blake’, and last time out winner, ‘Suggestion’. We have some smart un-named bumper 3 year olds (fillies and geldings, several for sale)  who will be running after Christmas if ready, and theres a great buzz about the yard with several new jump horses set to arrive later this week.

We have runners declared or entered for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday (more of these on tonights update)  – and Phil is also attendng the tatts sales at Newmarket this week which features some decent flat horses, and many to make potential hurdlers. Horses we bought here are the well bred duo -bumper and hurdle winner, Suggestion, and 3x bumper runner up, Wemyss point – both for less than £8000.
