Wednesday at Catterick

Secret Glance
Secret Glance makes his debut for us and his new Owners, The Redhotguardogs this afternoon – just 5 minutes up the road at Catterick – we love living so close to our local track! Phil bought him recentley from Ascot and thinks this is a good opportunity to get in the money first time out, he has been straightforward at home since he arrived and we could do with a couple more like him for the flat season!
Attheraces verdict:

Its been a quiet week on the runners front but plenty going on behind the scenes at home, and further entries now for Saturday and next Monday. We are of course all looking forward to Friday and our Partnerships Open morning – a shopping trip for plenty of sausages and buns on the cards for tomorrow morning! the youngsters have been schooling at home, and Northern Girl, pictured below, has proved very bold over a jump, boding well for her hurdles debut next NH season.

With the glorious weather we have enjoyed, a lot of the horses had an early turnout the last few days – although if we get a return to cold wet weather they will be coming back in as its usually end of April that we make the big turnout….it was great to see the young boys ( class of 2015) loving their freedom after a winter in the barn.

The fillies have also gone out – Dares to Dream by Beneficial, the Yeats 2 year old, the Kayf Tara yearling and Andorn’s 2 year old – They are a smart bunch.

Of course with the unseasonably dry weather the ground everywhere has gone quick. I noticed that Catterick were watering yesterday when I drove past and Phil hasn’t made Lady Buttons a Haydock entry as a result, she needs more give underfoot. Courtown Oscar holds a Scottish National entry but there will have to be a deluge for him to be considered for that. All the jumpers look in fantastic order though, and ground permitting we’re sure there will be some good performances to finish off their season before heading to the fields for the summer.
