Our day got even better following the superb Listed win of ‘Desaray Girl’ at Haydock – Brian Hughes giving The Flickeringlight a masterful ride from the front to win in great style despite the heavy ground.
This was a first win for her Owners, The Yorkshire Puddings and they were absolutely delighted. Flicker also won the Best Turned Out Award for Assistant Trainer, Simon Olley. His mother tells us on Facebook that she ‘trained him well’ – and she certainly did! ….he plaits up as well as anybody 👏👏👏
Meanwhile, Phil & Jennie had taken ‘Whoshotthesherrif’ to Ascot and he ran a solid race to be beaten just a nose for 4th in their big £150,000 handicap. Another valiant effort on unpleasantly heavy ground. Romeo Brown is fine following his fall and all horses back safely.
