Thursday at Aintree

Lady Buttons is on her way to Aintree

We’re almost at the track with our two BENEFICIAL mares, Lady Buttons for the 4.50 and Dares to Dream to round off the card in the Mares Championship Bumper.

Buttons faces perhaps her sternest test to date in a hot looking 20 runner 2 mile handicap Chase, Tommy had a good schooling session on her on Tuesday and he’ll be looking forward to getting the leg up on his Doncaster Grade 2 winner. One who will be watching anxiously at home is Adam who has partnered her to 11 of her 12 wins, he’s well on the mend but sensibly hasn’t rushed himself back.  It goes without saying that all bar Tommy we are all pretty nervous, it’s certainly easier watching her in a 5 runner Mares hurdle or chase. Whatever happens today she’s had a fantastic season with Listed and Graded wins and we just hope for a safe return for Buttons & Tommy. A win or place would be the icing on her season’s cake .

The good looking ‘Dares to Dream’

Dares to Dream is a big price in the bumper to round off the card, she should be judged on her first Sedgefield win, she improved for her Kelso debut and when she was 2nd carrying a penalty she was beaten by a nice horse on a track that wouldn’t have played to her strengths. We all believe that ‘Floss’ can run  a good race today and she’ll be staying on at the finish in what looks a particularly hot renewal. Floss will be sporting her posh new matching ‘Lafond’ browband and Jodie will be hoping for a Best Turned out award to add to her Best Turned Out at Market Rasen with Lord Rococco yesterday.

Please note if you are looking for a future mare who could be running here we have some lovely 2 year olds for sale by PRESENTING, MARTALINE and SIXTIES ICON  plus yearling fillies by DOYEN & the Derby winner and leading 2nd season Sire, CAMELOT all out of winning mares. We also have a yearling filly OUT OF A HALF SISTER to the dam of TIGER ROLL – a prolific winning family. We have interest in 50% of her at £4000 or she can be bought for £8000.

All at PKR are wishing Happy Birthday to our Travelling Head Girl Julie Heneghan.
