‘Lady Buttons’
She’s the best National Hunt mare in the North and one of the best Mares Chasers in the country – and there’s no doubt she’s the best looking! We bring you some facts about her that you may or may not know ahead of tomorrow’s race at Aintree…
12 Wins from 27 career starts
11 partnered by Adam Nicol
1 with Tommy Dowson
Main Work Riders
Sarah Olley 2013-2017
Jennie Durrans 2018-2019
4 Graded or Listed Wins
5 Graded or Listed places
£183,000 in prizemoney
Her stable name is unsurprisingly ‘Buttons’
She loves polos & carrots
She was the first foal of her un-raced Dam, ‘Lady Chapp’
She is the Dam’s only runner to date but 2 half brothers are in-Training
She is the first foal bred by her Owners
She won her first Bumper, her first Novice Hurdle, her first Novice Chase and her first Handicap Chase
She had 18 months on the sidelines through injury but came back better than ever.
This will be her 3rd appearance at the Aintree Festival, she has been placed on her two previous visits, 2nd & 4th. Her 2nd place was in a tight photo finish of The Mares Championship Bumper when she was 4.
When she retires from racing her Owners Keith & Jayne Sivills would love to breed from her – that will hopefully be the next chapter 🤞🏻💕
