Wetherby Hat Trick

I have been looking forward to writing this post all day but only now finally got chance to sit down and upload the photos and sort the videos….

A MAGNIFICENT TREBLE!

Lady Buttons, Nautical Nitwit & Wemyss Point

Together they made our day at Wetherby, without doubt one of our best days racing  since starting 11 years ago. To get one big winner with Lady Buttons was immensely satisfying ( especially having come 2nd last year) but for Tommy to then pick Nautical Nitwit up off the floor at the last, to battle on win and beat the favourite to win the Grade 2 – and THEN follow it with a pillar to post victory with Wemyss Point in the last – it was clearly an afternoon to savour for a long time and make the wintry days that much easier! Both Adam & Tommy winning feature races – it couldn’t have worked out better and this it has given our yard and team a massive boost and a huge reward for the hard work that goes on back at the yard.

Videos are currently loading to YouTube but for now here is Lady Buttons in action and some of our favourite photos from yesterday. From the minute she entered the pre parade ring she looked as though she owned it – and all along we have felt she was going to be hard to beat. Huge congratulations to her Owner/ Breeders Keith and Jayne Sivills who made the brave shout to run her on the good ground – she duly bounced off it and was fine this morning, always a worrying moment checking legs!

Lady Buttons & Katie who won BEST TURNED OUT with her – her final lead up of the mare as Katie is heading for a career as head Eventing Groom – she will be sadly missed.

This ends part 1 of our Wetherby review but tomorrow morning sees videos and further photos of Nautical Nitwit & Wemyss Point plus a look ahead of our weeks action.
